In memory of relatives who have passed away within the year, on this day, cows or people are adorned as cows and paraded in their respective areas, and offerings of milk, fruits, bread, puffed rice, yogurt, and both food and money are given by the devotees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is a religious belief that those who die throughout the year will cross the river Vaitarani by holding onto the tail of a cow after performing a city circumambulation.
