Rajkumar Gupta has resigned from the post of Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.
He announced his resignation today in a Facebook status, amid allegations that he was being singled out after a voice similar to Gupta’s was heard on the recording of a conversation about a bribe.

Gupta has stated that he has resigned to help investigate the allegations against him and bring out the truth.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had summoned him to his residence in Baluwatar and instructed him to resign within 24 hours. Gupta resigned immediately.

Gupta has claimed that he was a victim of the highest technology. There was widespread protest after the audio was made public a few days ago. Opposition parties have demanded his resignation and action.
Gupta was appointed as a minister on Ashar 11, 2081, a year ago today.
