Kathmandu — President has appointed , the parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), as the Prime Minister.

He has been appointed as Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76(1) of the Constitution, as the leader of the majority party in the House of Representatives.
This marks the first time that a Prime Minister has been appointed under this provision since the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal 2015. It is also the first time that a person from the Madhesi community has become the Prime Minister of Nepal.
Shah, who resigned from his post as Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City to contest in the elections held on 21 Falgun, has become Prime Minister immediately upon entering Parliament for the first time.
The names of 15 other ministers in the Shah-led government have also been finalised.
