Dailekh – Gurans Rural Municipality has made an eight-point commitment to improve and strengthen public service delivery for its citizens.

The commitments were announced during a public hearing programme organised by Gurans Rural Municipality and facilitated by Star Innovation and Research Center Pvt. Ltd. The commitments focus on enhancing the effectiveness, accessibility and quality of public services.

During the hearing, the municipality pledged to continuously publish laws, regulations, procedures, directives, standards and other legal documents through its official website and ensure wider public access to such information. It also committed to commencing standard health services at the 15-bed hospital immediately after the building is formally handed over by the construction company and to filling health worker positions in all health facilities according to approved staffing levels.

The municipality further pledged to continue child-friendly seating and learning activities in schools, establish convenient mechanisms for citizens to pay electricity service charges, and formulate programmes aimed at making teaching and learning activities more practical and of higher quality at the school level.

Likewise, it committed to initiating technical education programmes at the Gurans Agriculture Campus in Dharampokhara, where the construction of the campus building has already been completed, and to continuing the upgrading of the Gurans Pride Road.

Speaking at the public hearing, Rural Municipality Chairperson and Chief Responding Speaker, Top Bahadur B.C., stated that public services would be further improved in the coming fiscal year based on citizens’ suggestions and grievances, as well as the findings of the public opinion survey and exit feedback collected during the programme.

The public hearing was facilitated by C.P. Sharma, while Chief Administrative Officer Om Prakash Devkota presented the municipality’s progress report for the fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26).

The programme was attended by Vice-Chairperson Shiva Kumari Khadka, ward chairpersons, coordinators of thematic committees, heads of municipal branches and other stakeholders.
