KATHMANDU— Prime Minister Balen Shah departed for New York on Tuesday to participate in the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Shah left Kathmandu aboard a Qatar Airways flight via Doha, leading a four-member Nepali delegation to the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations headquarters.
During the session, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the General Assembly on 24 September, outlining Nepal’s views on key global and regional issues.
A separate delegation led by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal had already travelled to New York on 20 September to attend meetings and preparatory events related to the Assembly.
The United Nations General Assembly brings together representatives from member states each year to discuss a wide range of international issues, including sustainable development, climate change, peace and security, and global cooperation.
