Surkhet. The Karnali state government has backed down after widespread pressure from the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), saying it was implementing fragmented plans.
Apart from the Chief Minister’s Employment Program, Chief Minister’s Livelihood and Infrastructure Development Program, no other scheme with a budget of Rs 1.5 million will be implemented by the state government.
The all-party meeting was chaired by State Assembly Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi and attended by Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Leader of the Main Opposition Yamlal Kandel, Deputy Speaker Pushpa Gharti (Bista) and Leader of the ruling party CPN-Maoist Central Parliamentary Party Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Parliamentary Party Chandra Bahadur Shahi.
